What would an insurance company require as far as pilots go for a Gulfstream going over the pond to Tokyo? 8000 hours per pilot with type ratings?

I've tried so hard to get straight answers to questions like that, but it really depends on the under writer. Number one is the policy holder's relationship with the underwriter, and number two is how badly the underwriter wants the business. Your best option is to talk it up with insurance agents.

Type rating with appropriate experience.

We went from Astra to a large Falcon without any issue. It is all about relationships.

It depends upon the insurance company. I had a problem with our insurance a couple of years ago regarding our twin. I had 4k total and 2500 ME with an ATP and a Type. we bought a C303 Crusader and I have about 800 hrs in a 310 so it seemed like no problem. The insurance wanted me to have 10 hours of instruction in the 303 to be insured. Made no sense.
