My wife and I just found out she is pregnant. She is a f/a and the way the pregnancy is looking she is not going to be able to fly much, if at all. I need to add her to my insurance, but I am outside of the open enrollment time frame. It says that I can add her if we experience a "life event", in this case her inability to work. However, my worry is that they are going to deny her because of an existing condition (my peanut). Anyone been through this, or have any advice/guidance on how to deal with the insurance/HR people? Thanks in advance...

I thought "life events" were births, deaths, marriages and divorces. I didn't realize "inability to work" fell into that category.

It's classified as a change in employment for her, since she isn't allowed to do her job. We can use her insurance, but it's going to cost $$. I'd rather just put her on mine.
