After a summer of hard work I have my Instrument Check Ride scheduled for tommorrow.
Any tips from the professionals? I sure would appreciate anything you guys have to advise!
Stay ahead of what's going to happen. In my opinion the Inst. ride was the easiest as long as your on the ball the entire ride. Know the IFR rules and regs pretty solid especially lost Comm's. Know all the designations on the charts and plates as well as the terms. (MOCA, MORA, TCH, etc.) It's not a hard ride just think ahead. Good Luck!!
Stick to the tried and true: fly it like you trained
For the oral, well you either know it or you dont. Seeing that it's TOMORROW you can't really go out and study anything now. I suggest getting a good night rest, having a nice breakfast tomorow morning, and enjoying the ride. You will learn something . Let us know when you pass tomorrow
My advice would be to try to relax during the checkride and don't rush yourself. Think things through and take your time. If you feel rushed, remember, you can slow down your airspeed to give yourself more time. Good Luck!
Thanks for all your tips and help! I just got back from my chk ride, and I PASSED!!!
Everything was good, even my partial panel hold and VOR APP. My ILS wasn't to pretty, the controller had me way high and like a 10-15 degree intercept when he cleared me for the ILS to 6R in ANC. Well it took me a while to catch on, I dived down and was able to intercept the GS and fly it down to mins, my NDB app was beautiful so the examiner was great about it.
The FAA guy said the controllers seem to do that every now and then, thats just the first time I've got to experience some unwanted excitment.
Commercial next, it'll be a few months before I get going, got to save more money. Seems that I have been paying every penny I make for the last 3-4 months.
Anyways I'm looking forward toward the Commercial and Multi!
