The pay is no where near industry standards.....look at the payscale closely!

Things really aren't so bad at Alpha I guess. 2 weeks vacation in a row (20 days off), no questions asked!

what vacation????????????????

Well, depends on when you take it! Took mine in Feb, skied 15 days out of my 21 off! According to my wife, didn't do ANY chores, so it must have been a successful vaca!

Regarding pay: Capt at year 2, and if you're willing to average 8/6 schedule, (which is what we hired on at (7.5/6.5) originally), you'll see approx $72K in year 2 of employment. Not too bad, in my opinion.

Plane is fun, pax are 99% very friendly, and as Brewer Dog stated, What place is perfect? Sure nice to have a gateway system for the traveling.

So maybe that Kool-aide could use some sugar some times but still tastes good and I still get paid to drink it!

Things are not perfect at Avantair and need to get better! I will have to say that I didnt have ANY trouble getting my vacation when I wanted it. It was also not during a great time of year. How about the easter holiday! 21 days off in a row with a week in a half in Edinburgh that I only paid for 1/2 a night in a 5 star hotel becase I had enough points. Oh yea and then I took a week long trip to Washington DC. Ill have to go with Mainiac on this one...... Its not all doom and gloom at Avantair.

Dont get me wrong it needs work, but I know many people at Avantair who think this is a good job and could be a great job with a few changes.

What proportion of pilots are flying the Avanti II with ProLine 21 vs. the regular Avanti with the standard EFIS tubes? Are pilots gradually transitioning over to the IIs?

Lastly, I know it is a ways off, but when are the Phenom 100s expected to arrive?

I don't know the proportion of 1 and 2 qualified crews. It seems that many more have been thru differences than when I first got on it last fall. I think they've been trying to check everyone out as they go thru recurrent lately. Great avionics pkg, wish they were all 2's, it's always interesting to switch back and forth within the same tour!

On the Phenoms, I seem to remember 2008? as the time, but I'm basing that on memory. Of course, your memory is the second thing that goes! Can't remember what the first was?!?

PS: I never touch any Kool-Aid for at least 12 hrs prior to flight...
