This thread will probably be deleted...other threads about this topic already have been...just as two of the moderators of this site who started the one to which this thread refers...disappeared...not by choice.

Life's too short for petty jealousy.

Things evolve, including this site. Things spin off, new things start; that's life, that's the natural order of things. Many internet posters visit multiple sites...no reason people can't post here, and elsewhere, too. Food for the higher-ups here to consider and digest, before a new round of banning and punishment goes around.

I doubt it as he has already removed (banned) UAL78 and Falcon Capt who were long time moderators and contributors from flightinfo completely. I could see removing them as mods here but to completely remove their accounts, that fits right into the "petty jealousy" catagory if you ask me.

Yeah but at $10 I'll just weed through all the PFT and gulfstreem threads and stay here.

That's your choice. I don't think they are expecting (or even want) to get everyone, just a nice solid group of professionals who are tired of all the flaming, fighting and garbage that goes on the open boards. According to the site stats they have been open just over 10 days and have over 210 members, thats says to me a lot of people feel $10 is a small price to pay to not have to weed through all the garbage.

I pay $35 a year to be a member of AOPA which I feel I get far less benefit from than I will for the $10 a year for the ability to network and learn from a core group of serious professionals. I'll just skip 2 Starbuck's Venti Mochas during the next 12 months and I won't even notice the $10.

Your time is worth money, if you figure out what it is costing you to dig through piles of stuff, you might find out it actually saves you money in the long run, don't sell yourself short.

Not exactly banned, but removed...allowed to post, but in a manner in which only they can read their posts...nobody else sees them. A function that may be used on troublesome posters who don't realize right away they've been banned...sort of a shot from behind.

Two moderators who spent a lot of their own time here to ensure that this stayed liveable.

Whatever.

I don't own this or any other site, not my place to tell any of the owners what to do. As a long time observer and occasional participant, however, I don't see such acts favorably, nor do most others, the opinions of whom I might respect. For what it's worth, those in a position of strength here might take notice. The heavy-handedness that went on here before only served to create another site and draw away a large share of the membership here...clearly it was the wrong tack to take. Lesson learned, perhaps this time might be that we all really ought to get along.

So it's a real yawn-fest, in other words. If I want to be bored, and filled with officious "professional" nonsense, I'll offer to buy a check airman a cup of coffee.

$10 to satisfy a curiosity...I've spent more than that for two beers at the ballpark...now that was a waste of money!

I'll keep my $10 and you keep your cool new website. Good deal.

There are now 100 active job posts on there with something for everyone; low time, 121, 135, corporate, simulator instructor, CFI, you name it.
