I am going to work over seas and will be traveling to different countries. Does anyone have any advise on what kind of cell phone plan to get that won't cost an arm and a leg.

Tmobile wifi Blackberry

Get on a wifi signal and make all calls free via UMA.

Not wifi? plug in to your laptop and create a wifi hotspot (easy on a MAC, dunno about windoze) and then your phone will be UMA also. Again, free calls.

About $75 a month for this plus unlimited Intl email, messenger, etc.

Its a great deal for anyone who travels. No more skype, no more calling cards, use your own number etc..

I use T-Mobile as well. Just like G200 said. It has the Wi-Fi capability, ATT does not. Plus they let you create plans that you can change each month as your needs change. For example, right now I add on unlimited data plan and the wi-fi at home (by using this feature, you do not use any plan minutes anytime you use the phone over your home wireless network.)

The Blackberry Curve has the wi-fi through T-Mobile.

Which Blackberrys have WiFi capability?

I could go to the T-Mobile website but I'm too lazy.

The Blackberry Curve , and Blackberry Pearl 8120 are both wifi capable.

Skype

I'm still a big fan of Skype.com. Was in Eastern Germany this morning, made a quick call to the wife for just a few pennies. Using a headset for the connection to my laptop, the conversation was crystal-clear even though it was thru a wifi connection. Glad there are better options now instead of using a cell phone.
