After years of trying to find a job, and almost giving up, I landed a flying job. I have to thank a few of you on here for keeping me focused on what I really wanted to do, because I am having an absolute blast.

I was hired by an outfit up in Alaska and just recently passed my 135 checkride and completed my IOE. I started flying the line a few days ago, and it is a wonderful feeling. And not to mention the type of flying we do makes you sharpen your skills.

So for those of you that are still wondering about your status in the community, just be sure to cover all your bases, and look for a job where you might not always look. I was lucky enough to not have anything holding me down in Dallas, which is how I was able to take this job on less than 2 weeks notice.

Moral of the story - Never give up!

congrats, rchcfi! Glad to hear that pilots are getting hired. I read somewhere that only 5300 pilots were hired last year compared to nearly 20,000 in 2000. Of course, that was only in the airline side of things.

Getting hired

Congratulations from me, too! Good show!

Holy class date, Batman, Kit said there was a pilot shortage!

I think Kit was including Pilots who were hired in non-flying jobs too!

Have fun, good luck.

A true aviator

rmccfi,
Congratulations!

It has been said that to get a flying job you must be willing to relocate.

You certainly have proven that you were willing to do just that.

You covered more than 30 degrees of lattitude and more than 80 degrees of longitude following your dream and you were willing to help others without compromising your integrity or paying for you training in the process.

You certainly have paid your dues and have earned the right to be called a commercial pilot.

Hopefully by next year, you can buy a motorcycle to replace the antique one you sold to help you achieve your dream.
Good Luck.
Be Well.

Congratulation!!!

I´m happy you´ve made it.

just make sure you have enough for the winter up there...I believe is super cold.

;)

Congrats

Congratulations!

From us here in Dallas! Glad to hear you did it without having to pay out of your pocket.

Take care up there and give us updates every once in a while.
