I don't instruct much anymore, but in talking with an examiner friend of mine the other day, he mentioned that in the future the FAA will require all instructors to be logged into this system in order to get students a check ride.

Having not seen anything about this program, just wondering if you full time instructors have gotten all the info on this.

Appently now, the FAA wants everything in Iacra. If it's not in there, no checkride......

Test scores, 8710, all have to be in Iacra.....

It's cake, it took me 5 minutes to register (http://acra.faa.gov).

From a CFI standpoint, all I have to do is login, pull up the students FTN number and enter a knowledge test ID number and click where you'd normally sign the 8710.

It works great, but, I don't think it is required. I just signed off someone recently and the examiner wanted a hard copy. Both are accepted, but going through IACRA speeds the process up.

Not Yet

It is not required yet. sometime you will hit a snag with a student and it won't take them, otherwise it's easy and the examiners sure seem to like it, and we want them to be happy don't we!

Just took a checkride today (MEI, passed) with a printed out 8710. Examiner didn't say anything about IACRA.

Mandatory or not, it speeds the process up for the applicant. I think the wait for a permanent certificate goes down.
