Sorry if I am redundant....
I am looking for ways to cut down on training expenses. Eveyone knows that flight training can get very expensive. I have been looking at scholarships and grants, but all of them seem geared towards collage-age or women (not to offend anyone out there). Unfortunately I am neither. I am a 34 y/o, caucasion male. Probably the worst mix to be when looking at scholarships. The only thing I have going to help out is the GI Bill. The GI Bill only covers a certain percentage of training (only plane and instructor time, not materials), so it is still expensive to get those hours.
Are there any scholarships/grants/loans that I should be looking at that I may have missed? What have others done to help finance their education?
I am on active duty in Iraq, should return in several months. I plan on starting up again as soon as I get home. Due to the fact I am on active duty, I can not get a second job to help pay. My wife wouldn't let me anyway. I would like to pursue a career in aviation when I get out of the Marine Corps. Please, give me suggestions!!!!
Thank you
