well, first off, the Saudi government DOESN'T ban Jews... we have a Jewish captain flying in there ALL THE TIME... they ban ISRAELI's .. the same way Israel bans IRanians (nationals) or Syrians... that's a political issue between the Saudis and the Israelis... Saudia, being a Saudi owned airline complies with this law... Delta, having a code share with Saudi must therefor also not allow ISRAELI's to go on this flight, as it would be doing them a great dis-service but basically throwing them under the bus..

but lets' not confuse Jew (or Semite, which could be an Arab) with Israeli.. a nationality which is 95% Jewish, but also has non-Jew Christians and Muslims..

Actually this really shouldnt even be about Delta. You need an entry visa to get on any flight to Saudi, and its the Saudi gov that issues those. Delta just checks to make sure you have it before you board.

Worst than that if your read the original article they talk about joint venture and code share that DAL will have with Saudi and both are plain not true. 99.9% of Deltas customers that are going to Saudi Arabia are sent via Europe on KLM or AF because these are joint ventures and give Delta way much more revenue.The only thing that really happen was Saudi joined SkyTeam giving Saudi customer the ability to get SkyTeam FF miles and I think a bit larger commission is they sell ticket on other SkyTeam flights.The article was a poorly researched hatchet job .

much like the story on that poor WN pilot with a stuck mic, this is nothing but over blown drama by the media which a) loves to sell sensationalism and b)is biased towards certain agendas.

Yep, and I imagine there are flights to the US that entry visas are checked too. Very poorly researched hatchet job at that. I have been to the Magic Kingdom twice now for work. I think one flight was British Airways, and the other was Air Fwance. Both times, I had to show my entry visa to get on the flight

like I said, we've got at least one Jewish pilot who operates into Saudi on a regular basis... never been hassled, at least not anymore than anyone else.. Heck, Madeline Albright who was secretary of state is Jewish and had no problems, and on top of that she is a "Woman" (arguably just barely, but nevertheless).
