Wife talked me into it tonight. Where should a guy like me with a little over 500TT and only 15 multi look for work? Catching up with my wife's sister in West Hollywood. Nice place.
Lower Arkansas has a West Hollywood? Dang, I got to get out of the house more often.

What is it with the andriod motif the women have there? Was commercialing home a couple months back and had one come strike up a conversation with me at the airport pub........it was like talking to Data from Star Trek! I was hard pressed to see any part of her body that wasn't augmented in some way, her face had a definate "Plastic" look about it.

I guess as long as she thought she looked good. There should be a life size before and after picture of Michael Jackson posted in every plastic surgeons office that is required viewing prior to going under the knife.....Yikes!!!!!

That bad huh? My wife's sister is in the entertainment industry and is friends with some of those famous folks. She gets us into all the clubs and bars that require you know somebody. I'm into the weather there. Great VFR and head north for IFR. Bad traffic though. Perfect place to take to the skys. I think caneman lives out there. Maybe he can tell me where to find some smoooth flying gigs.

Next morning......yep she was serious. We both kind of hate the town where we currently live so it's fine with me. Problem is, I planned on getting close to the IFR mins and working for Ram Air or similar out of Charlotte to get my multi time. I don't know if there are any opportunities to do this around L.A. and I sure as hell can't afford to buy any multi time. I have ~ 15 multi. Where should I look to fly and gain multi experience around Southern California?

Your CFI is going to be your best bet. Check out VNY for starters. It is one of the busiest GA airports in the country.

Ameriflight at BUR. They hire sim and flight instructors, and it's a good way to get into the program before you meet 135 mins. PM some of the current AMF guys here, and find out more about it.

If you don't have your II and MEI, it still couldn't hurt to make some contacts -- then get those ratings. Not having them (esp. the II) is going to slow down your instructing career in SoCal.

American Flyers at Santa Monica is run by a good guy (Marco). You could get your CFI/II for probably $4-5K, and probably get a job there (single engine instruction only). There should be opportunites to work as an MEI in that area also, I think Bracket field has a twin training operation.

Note: I didn't say anything about American Flyers OTHER than Santa Monica...read between the lines.

brackett

no twin trainig at brackett, the only flight school on the field is that of Mt. Sac. (and you have to be a enrolled student to fly there). I pay 160 for a seneca I out of el monte? good luck
