I think Bombardier is shopping FlexJet around - at least, according to what I have read in the paper.

Selling Flexjet

1) Well, that rumor has been around for quite some time (years).

2) Look at post sincere reasons why fractional life is great (2nd page) and then conduct a flexjet search.

For sale...?

Yeah I heard the same rumor yesterday...must be true. We are going to join Netjets and Options. Gonna be called Flexible Flight Jets....or was it Flexible Jet Options.....sheesh.

Flexjet Scheduled to Take 51 New Bombardier Aircraft
Tuesday May 3, 12:07 pm ET

DALLAS, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to increased demand for Flexjet aircraft, Bombardier is reserving 51 aircraft positions with a value of approximately $829 million for delivery to Flexjet over the next three years. This is in addition to the 16 new aircraft added to the Flexjet fleet since January 1, 2004, and represents both replacement of existing aircraft in the Flexjet fleet and net additional aircraft resulting from new sales of fractional shares.

More than 60 percent of the planned deliveries will be Learjet 40XR and Challenger 300 aircraft. These new Bombardier aircraft types helped Flexjet to achieve a 67-percent increase in the number of new owners during 2004 compared with the previous year. Response from current Flexjet owners has also been tremendous and the company expects that many of these future aircraft will be sold to existing customers as their contracts come up for renewal.

"The new Bombardier Challenger 300 and Learjet 40 aircraft contributed to our rebound in sales during 2004 and our positive outlook for the future," said Michael McQuay, president, Bombardier Aircraft Services.

Flexjet owners purchase an interest in a Bombardier-built business jet that is managed on their behalf by Flexjet. The company provides trip reservation and scheduling, flight crews, aircraft maintenance and insurance.

"The Challenger 300 is perfect. It has comfort, range, and speed. What else do you need? I can honestly say it has extended my career," said Lance Armstrong, six-time winner of the Tour de France.

"I chose the Bombardier Challenger 300 because it is one of the most efficient, highest performing aircraft available," stated Michael Connors, president emeritus, AOL Technologies. "I have been very satisfied during my five years with Bombardier Flexjet and decided to renew and increase my ownership due to their responsiveness and the value they offer compared to other programs."

"I have been flying with Bombardier Flexjet since 1999 and have enjoyed the service. I recently decided to move into the Learjet 40XR. It's quick, comfortable and has lots of room for baggage," said PGA TOUR professional Scott Verplank.

These new aircraft will support the complete range of private jet travel services offered by Bombardier. Companies and private individuals can select everything from the Flexjet 25-hour jet card or a full-service fractional ownership share in Learjet 40XR, Learjet 45XR, Learjet 60, Challenger 300 or Challenger 604 aircraft.

As part of Bombardier, a world leading manufacturer of business aircraft, Flexjet is the only fractional jet ownership program that offers the complete line of Bombardier-built Learjet and Challenger family of aircraft. Flexjet continues to lead the fractional ownership industry in program innovation and flexibility by offering the widest variety of share sizes and program enhancements such as Versatility Plus and AnyTime Options.

About Flexjet

Established in 1995 and based in Dallas, Texas, Bombardier Flexjet offers a turnkey program allowing individuals or companies to purchase a share in a Bombardier business jet at a fraction of the full ownership cost. Flexjet owners select the most appropriate aircraft type for their needs, determine the number of hours per year they fly, and purchase shares of the Bombardier business jets starting at a share size of 1/16th (equal to 50 hours flying per year). Flexjet guarantees 24-hour access to its fleet with as little as six hours notice and can fly into 10 times the number of airports available to commercial flights, for maximum travel flexibility. Owners pay predictable monthly management and usage fees, while Bombardier Flexjet manages aircraft maintenance, flight crews, hangars, fuel and insurance on their behalf. Flexjet is the only fractional provider that fields an exclusive family of Bombardier business jets, including the Learjet 40 XR, Learjet 45 XR, Learjet 60, Challenger 300 and Challenger 604.

We are going to get a few more planes in the pretty paint scheme so someone will want to buy us...

300

I got a tour of the front office of a Flexjet 300 one night at BED when I was still working the line. What a cool plane! Does it fly as nice as it looks?

Upgrade Time

Upgrade time is slow. We did just start again this year though. The guys that are upgrading have been here over 5 years though.

And to think that I was about to jump in and defend my company. Nah!! I am perfectly happy here. Better here than across the street.

Latest at NetJets

I have a classdate of 20 June (05) for the G-200. Can someone give me some straight poop:
1). Are we sriking within days of my arrival?
2). What if I am in training when we strike - do I finish training (I won't be a scab!)?
3). Anything else that might influence me from giving up my CRJ IP job at Independence Air to go to NJ?
Thanks

Wrong topic. Post these same questions in a new thread or on a NJ-specific thread. I hear the G200 is a nice aircraft...

I've been seeing those Lear 40s everywhere recently. I like the new paint scheme.

Given the increase in Lear 40/45s and CL300 deliveries, what's the likelihood that a newhire would actually start on the Lear 60 or the 604? Which aircraft types have recent newhire classes gone to?

Heavy,

I believe they will start to hire into the 300 off the street. Most nehires will go to the 45/40. The last time we hired the mix was mostly 45/40, a few 60 and a few 604. It is stictly based on were the company needs people. That said those that have more time, types etc. tend to go into the 604 and 60 and probably the 300. There have been exceptions and it is always based on need at that time.

FlexJet Pilots:

Has there ever been a statement or internal memo as to why Bombardier choose not to place the Global Express into service with you guys? (or anyone for that matter)

I've always wondered about this.

Gex

Because the company was too stupid to figure it out...
I worked for Flex for 5 years flying the 604 and was there when the first GEX was being considered... Dell got the first one and the company screwed it up big time. So big infact, Dell left..... took his plane with him./

Yeah, a great company.

Wrong sporto-guess again.

1) Well, I guess the "other fracs" are across the street, "wise one."

2) How do you want to get paid? Every other Thurs. Mailed to you or electronically deposited.

3) As far as hiring into a certain type, Vixin nailed it pretty eloquently.

PS. I think that Flex is a great place to work. Upgrade times and all the other gripes are about the same everywhere. You guys know that.

Good Luck and have fun, for cryin' out loud!!

Flyboy

Hey Guys,

I use to work at FlexJet a few years back and I really enjoyed it.

I've heard that, and maybe someone currently at Flex can verify or correct me on this;

1. Flex is getting (or got) a pay raise.
2. FO's are bumped to Capt. pay after 5 years if there are no upgrades.
3. New bonus/incentive plan.
4. QOL is improving.
5. New owners coming over from the other Frax because of "labor concerns".

Something to keep in mind is that the Fractionals seem to run a cycle, when one or two is really crappy to work at there is one that is great. When I started Flex it was the fractional to work for, (pay, QOL, growth) then things seem to hit a brick wall, and we went to being the perceived worst to work for. Guys were bailing so fast for NJA it looked like rats getting of a sinking ship. Now its looking like the tide is turning a bit, but I'm sure it will slide the other way sooner or later.

Good Luck to All.

Just statin' the facts.

2. FO's are bumped to Capt. pay after 5 years if there are no upgrades.

5. New owners coming over from the other Frax because of "labor concerns".

Gentlemen,
All above are true. As I said in an earlier post, I think that Flex is a great place to work as a pilot. Things are definately improving. Take care.

PS. If any of you want a personal recommendation to the HR people, PM me. I'd be glad to do it.

Best Regards

Broken,

They must still be giving the $1000.00 bonus for signing someone up.

Skippy,

You better get home and mow that yard. You spend a $1000.00 on a push mower, you know your wife is going to expect that yard mowed every other day.
Where am I now, I'm with your wife, employer that is.
