I'd be grateful for any information you'd be willing share on how the program was implemented at your carrier and how well it's conformed to your expectations since it's been in effect.

I'm especially interested in any additional safegaurds that might have been put in place to protect your crews, and whether or not those safegaurds were placed in the language of your contract.

Thanks in advance.

We don't know at our airline. We can't have ASAP because our Company demands that we waive rights to the grievance process to participate in a mutually beneficial safety program.

In other words "trust us, we will take care of everything." While behind the scenes behind every incident there are two Certificates on the line, the Company's and the Pilot's. Who do you think the Company is more interested in protecting?

If you work where I think you do, you do have access to the reports through your dispatcher...but only if the dispatcher files the ASAP. In other words, if it's a joint responsibility type mistake, and the dispatcher files the report, you will be invited to participate in the program.

That's exactly what I'm afraid of...

I used to work for ALG and the ASAP program was great. CMR has a very similar program. Worst case scenario, you'd get a "local letter of correction", which is NOT a violation and will not show up on an FAA records check. The letter is removed after 2 years. There is much more to it than this, so if you want more info, PM me.

Our concern is with what management can do with the self-disclosed information. The benefits with regard to the Feds are clear.
