I noticed many with pictures under there name. How do I paste one in? I looked under the User CP menu, but could not find a way to do it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Go back to your control panel and look for the "Change Avatar" option on the left. That's the one you want.

Have fun!

Okay, 1900 -- now tell "us" how to reduce a pic to 150x150 pixels. so it can be plugged in as an avatar? Is there a shortcut? 'Cause so far, all I come up with is trial and error.

The only way I could get it to work was to inport the pic into a photo edit program, and then under the edit feature it would tell you the pixel count---I just kept playing the scale until I could get it at 150---you're right, I'm not the most technologically gifted so it's been trail and error for me. Some of these guys can do a lot of stuff on here that I haven't figured out, tho, so someone probably has a better answer. Good luck!

Well, I used GraphicConverter to do it. Opened it up, chose the "Size" command, entered the pixel dimensions I wanted, and it scaled it instantly.

If you're a Windows guy, I'm sure there's something out there that'll work easily, too. I haven't tried it yet, but I'd be willing to bet Google's free Picassa software would do it for you.

matt, that link takes me to zombo.com -- and a never-ending intro screen. ("Welcome to zombo com; thees ees zombo com ..."). It won't let me past the intro. Is there really something there, or are you trying to induce a flashback?

Hmm. Hadn't thought about Picassa. I'll try it.

Edit: Looks like Picassa will only reduce to 320 pixels.

What do you mean? You can do anything at zombo.com. Your imagination is the limit.

haha.

Here's your sign. :)

Open in Microsoft Photo Editor that came with XP.

Click on Image, then resize. Click on inches and change to pixels. Plug in 150 in either width or height and it will do the rest for you.

Ouch!

chprplt, thanks -- that worked. Of course, first I had to figure out that MS Office hijacks Photo Editor, and installs Photo Manager in its place.

Anyway, now I know. About zombo. What next -- air samples?

Double true.

I have never, ever in my life been happier to pay a shareware fee than for GraphicConverter. I've been using it for six years or so, and it does everything I need Photoshop to do (wife has full version) in a Mac-friendly program.

You have motivated me to change my avatar again since I haven't done so in about 6 months. Since most of you on this site enjoy looking at hot girls, I picked this one out just for you.
