I am looking into becoming a DADE, besides the brief requirement (make 3 mock exams) listed on the FAA website, and the $1644 application fee, I cannot find anything about it.

Can anyone help? And does it worth the time and money?

Better than being a DUDE(Designated Underwear Durability Examiner)..lmao

Sorry have no clue on your question, just being my typical wise a$$ :)

Cheers

Designated Aircraft Dispatch Inspector

I briefly talked to a guy last night at the post office that was mailing in his application to the FAA for the position. He had 3 years for prior dispatch experience (Part121) and also had 4 years experience in the flight standards office for another (121) carrier.

Not sure, But I would imagine the Dispatch Experience is key. I believe he also had to right a few essays on his dispatching experience.

Thank you for your reply. I have seen the inspector opening too. The job description said it is going to coordinate with FAA and designated aircraft dispatcher examiners. So I guess that is a different position.

I got my license by taking the practical in an examiner's house. I wonder is he working as a individual or is he actually the "regional examiner hired by FAA".
