what is the age limit to fly? I've heard 30 before pilot training, how long does it take before you get to training? I have a BS degree. How long do the AFOQT/BAT scores last? I took them almost 2 years ago. If you have kids out of wedlock does that dq you? My friend got in with a DWI how did he pull that off?
I didnt get in the Air Force 2 years ago but Im now interested in Res, Guard or whatever it takes.

I certainly hope not...why should that have anything to do with your pilot abilities? Or your ability to serve the country?

I think the Army is still 29 years old prior to flight training. You can enlist for anything else up to age 35. Two kids are no problem unless you are a single parent with custody. Check with your local recruiter for the latest info though.

Must enter pilot training by your 30th birthday. Your AFOQT and PCSM scores are good forever, as far as I know. Guard usually takes two years from selection to starting pilot training. My only experience with the Reserves, is my own. Interviewed in Feb., notified of sponsorship in March, packet to national board in September, will start OTS in March. All in all, a one year turnaround. The national selection boards take place in March and September.

P.S. You will need an FC1 physical as well.

Just so you know there are no hard and fast age rules when it comes to the Guard. Optimally they would like you in UPT by age thirty but that can be waived to a yet undetermined age. Point being there are guys well into their thirties at UPT getting their wings right now. The key is finding a unit that is willing to work with you to push an age waiver through and bring you on board. Just be sure that if you decide on pursuing the Guard route talk to someone at the particular unit prior to sending a package to find out how willing they are to submit age waivers. Every unit is different. Some will bend over backwards to help you out while others won't waste the time if they have a large pool of applicants. Hope this helps.

Air Force Reserves

It took me about a year to get my packet to the board and get a date for OTS. I started the process in October of 2003, and got my OTS date at the beginning of this month...which will be in April of next year. The part to the process that will screw you is that FC1 physical. That has to be done, and certified before that packet can go to the board, and if you miss that, you have to wait for the next one. Those only come twice a year, so if you're serious about this, you better get the ball rolling before the end of February comes. The age limit for UPT is either 29.5 or th 30 I think

Good Luck
