I've been told these are the junior bases.

what kind of lines could one expect as a newbie in ORD, or COS? DEN?

are these doms staffed up or are they still increasing?

mainly curious about ORD and what kind of lines are available with juniority

thx

Lines? Things that make you say hmmm.

expecting the RJ? expect up to a year of reserve all reserve lines are rough and abusive at SKW! 10 days off and 20-21 days of: " Hi this is so and so from St. George High, we have a trip for you tomorrow at 4:30 am we should have you back no later than 5 days from now when you are illegal!" Good Luck it gets a lot better in a hurry and it is a good, if not the best regional out there! JP.Maybe try to get into the BRO if at all possible, unless you have no value on QOL.

COS and ORD are the junior bases right now. COS has 35 ish lines and you would likely get 4 day trips when you could hold a line. The most junior line holder in COS got hired within the last 4 months, but things like that seem to change quickly.

I wondered about RJ lines.

If ORD is really junior (I heard 20-30 crews?) then people must leave there each month for somewhere else. so, I wondered if someone hired now could expect to be a lineholder in ORD after just a month or so. sound right? what kind of line could one hold there if they were in the top 1/2 or 1/3rd of lineholders? what about DEN and COS? how many hard lines/reserve line are there?

also, I heard SLC was going from 180 or so to 240 lines?

thanks

ORD has about 45 crews with 35-40 regular lines. The majority of the lines are 4 day trips. If you are based in ORD you will only fly the 50 seat there. The 70 seat flying is being staffed out of DEN, and to a lesser extent COS. With only 70 seat deliveries from now on DEN is rumored to grow the greatest.

I've heard that we'll be hiring another 100 pilots before the end of the year,- all into the RJ.

As far as SLC growing to 240 lines I hadn't heard that one. With ASA having a larger presence here come 1/05, I kinda of doubt it.

In fact, I read something in the bid packet or on the SkyWest forums last month (don't remember where) that seemed to indicate the SLC RJ lines would stabilize in the 180'ish range.

This is just me, but speaking as a SLC-based Brasilia pilot, I looked at both our lines and the RJ lines for Nov. Seems to me as a LINEHOLDER, the RJ lines averaged a little nicer than the Brasilia lines. I know the average days off was a full day higher (almost 15 vs almost 14). Fewer legs, more money, better start and end times for the trip on a lot of pairings, etc. Several RJ people have told me their QOL went up when they transitioned away from the Bro.

I wouldn't be able to compare reserve, but I'm pretty sure it sucks on either aircraft.

Senior bases?

How senior is Santa Barbara and Palm Springs for an RJ FO. Realistically someone hired today would have to wait how long to get into one of those bases? Also, which bases currently fly the 70.
