Anyone have any info on how long the usual hire/no-hire response is in the corporate world? I interviewed with a top-name flight dept about 6 weeks ago and still no word. They said that it would be a long process, but this my friends, is ridiculous. I thought the interview went well and I gave the Thank-You letters to the dept. the next day. The CP also said that a letter was bad and a call was good. So far, neither....

They interviewed candidates spaced evenly throughout the day, so I was unable to meet any others and compare notes. What should I do? Call??? Wait some more??? This is my dream job and the anticipation is KILLING me!!!!

Thanks for listening

I would call... A polite "follow-up" call isn't out of line...

On the other hand, 6 weeks is a long time, but who knows.. if they got busy or something else came up the hiring of a new pilot might have been put on hold.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes!

Same here

I had an interview with one of the top flight departments of a well known management company nearly 6 weeks ago. Thought it went very well, waited patiently and made a couple polite follow up calls to say thanks but never heard back from them. Figured I must of somehow screwed it up since so much time had gone by and I accepted another position with a company for less than industry avg. pay and benefits. (BTW a really good group of people, just kinda tight with the money right now)
As luck would have it, guess who called today!!!! Yep, the guy from the better job called and wants to meet one more time but it looks like its pretty much in the bag. Now I've got to tell the guy who already hired me "thanks but.............."
I feel like crap doing this but the pay and benefit difference is more than 50%. Gotta love this business.

Sounds like the one I interviewed with. Maybe you're one of the luckey ones, I got my rejection letter a week and a half ago. Did you interview with a six airplane dept. on Aug 14th at your own expense?

Sounds like the same one. Check your PM's cause I'd love to compare notes.

Still biting my nails everytime I check mail

Tailwinds.....

Any flight Dept. that doesn't pay your interview expenses isn't worth interviewing at in the first place.
