I know this is probably a stupid question but how long does the OCS last? I plan on joining some ocs program after I grad college in aviation. Do a lot of people go that route to become a commercial pilot?WIll I have the flight hours in after an ocs to be a commercial pilot?

Thanks, Nathan

I have no idea what they are doing these days. I suggest you visit you friendly hometown recruiter...

USAF (AD and Res) = 12 weeks. That's called OTS. ANG is 6 weeks, and that's called AMS.

Navy-12 weeks Pensacola, FL
Coast Guard-17 weeks, New London CT

Rough estimate but about 30% of officers come from OCS programs, rest from ROTC or service academies. After completing any military flight training program the FAA awards you a Commercial Pilot equivalency after passing a written exam.

Service obligation AFTER completing flight school is 6-8 years depending on service.
