How Long does a Background Check Take???

I recently got hired on by Raytheon Aircraft Services and they gave me the job pending a physical and a 10 yr background check. Just wondering how long this process takes...it has been 2 weeks and no official word yet on a start date or anything????

it just depends man. in this day and age, they kinda have free rein to dig as much as they want. we had a guy get hired 2 months ago, and they just recently gave us the go-ahead

one note of caution though...10 year is NOT the limit for your answers. pay attention to the question...more than a few of them ask if you "have ever..."

answer accordingly, because any discrepency is grounds for inability to hire
