How is PSA affected by the new AWAC deal?

Just curious what some of you think will be the reprocusions for PSA now that United has dumped AWAC. Anyone else think it could mean expansion for USAir?

I think PSA has very little to worry. The $125 million will only buy AWAC the bragging rights for about 3-4 months, then USAIR will do like United and play it's commutters off eachother.

Yea, I feel sorry for all those guys that left PDT!(Most of which could have upgraded now) Now they are gonna be wearing there old US Airways Express Uniforms again and flying for another Chapter 11 airline. Man, the industry is crazy. Well boys all I guess we can do is sit back and enjoy this wonderful profession we have chosen.

I'm not too worried about it. I would much ather be a part of AWAC in the long run than get bought by Mesa, but that's just my 2 cent's.

Was reading an article that states that AWAC would more than likely replace some or all of Mesa's flying for US Airways. Granted, it was by a aviation consultant and his opinion only.

After all the stuff that AWAC has been biotching about SkyWest, doesn't it seem interesting that they are going to do essentially the SAME thing to the Alpa carriers that are presently serving Airways???

I used to work for USAir Express Piedmont and I feel really sorry for all those over there that may lose their jobs as a result AWAC bringin all our jets over. Except for Mesa of course. I also think that because we are going to control about 40 percent of USAIR along with $hitauqua I dont think we are going to get fuked with too much. I for one think that Airways is going to be fuked with more than us. We can pretty much tell USair what we are going to do and theres not much they can really do about it.

Interesting that UAL dumps AWAC out on our ass and now WE are the bad guys for doing U flying. I couldn't care less if Mesa pilots end up on the street after this is all over. They were the ones that signed that POS contract so they could grow at others expense.



Let me tell you how much I enjoyed talking to an ex-friend of mine at Mesa as he was considering their TA. He said AWAC was screwed because we were so expensive and Mesa pilots were willing to "work with the company" to help get our flying. F**k'em now, F**k'em forever!

Do you know what PFT stands for??? Seriously where do you get this stuff? Prior to about a year ago just about everyone hired at AWAC had at least 1 or like most of us 2 or 3 years at a previous regional. We are not 900 snot nose "I wanna be an airline pilot for anybody no matter how shi.tty they treat me" newbies. We are people that have not only worked just as hard as you, but have also tried to go to carriers with awesome contracts and high quality of life. Not just looking for the quickest route no matter what the cost. I'm not blaming you, I'm not wishing harm against you, but g.od you are an idiot. AD

Spoken like a true coward. Getting furloughed was the best thing that ever happened to me. You won't find me at any airline that won't pay a liveable FO wage just so I can have a job flying a jet.

Well a new hire at Piedmont makes around 25k his first year. Hell I was able to get my own apartment (yes, now the chicks dig a pilot with his own apartment) instead of crashing with 4 people.

At one point with contract and work rules (and I know this for a fact) Piedmont FA's were bringing in more money then Mesa Fo's.... I thought that was some funny Shi$!!!
