Looking for inside scoop on Evergreen from current employees. I have seen some stuff from former employees and just wanted some current info. What is the schedule and working conditions like? Is the current payscale on the airline pilot pay sight accurate? Also there is no perdiem listed. Thanks in advance for the info?

Its a good company. The scheds are 16 on and the rest off. They can extend you up to 18. You can get a split sched if you can hold it so you dont have to do all the days at once. The pay scales are correct on the website. We stay in great hotels and they feed us very well. You will see lots of the world. There is a class in april and may.....dont know how many. Hope this helps!! good luck

Good 'ole FURLOGREEN!.

They should at least get 8-10 months in before furlough in January. But at least it's a short furlough usually. If you are single and can afford to be laid of for 2-4 months a year it is a good gig.

When I was there, one of our furloughs went so deep that guys that had been there 5+ years were on the street.

good thing you dont work there now!! Things have changed since you jumped ship.

Hard to figure if they are going to furlough......why are they hiring tons of FO's??

I was there 3 years, never got furloughed.

Pay was much better then, FRA base and all.

Then I guess it's all about luck and timing. I have a buddy who was hired as a DC9 FO, lasted less than a year, got furloughed, recalled for about 90 days, furloughed again, recalled to the 747, furloughed from that, and now was offered recall. Bypassed to stay with his corporate gig.

This was all in the last 2 years.

That is good things have changed. I truly hope that you are never furloughed from Evergreen, but history has a tendency to repeat itself. The company has been around for 30+ years, and has ALWAYS furloughed. It is just part of the old man's business model. There were TWO furloughs last year alone. I'm just not sure that much has changed in a few months in The Zone.

Evergreen has burned most of their ACMI bridges in favor of AMC flying over the years. AMC flying is hot right now, but if it slows down (and it will), the old man has nothing to fall back on. If I remember, almost 90% of their flying is AMC. What happens is: the government cuts back for a quarter and Evergreen parks 3-4 planes and furloughes half the crews. Then the AMC flying picks back up again and the recalls go out. Less than half of those on furlough will return....hence the hiring.

I will admit, it is an AWESOME place to work. The flying is some of the best in the biz, especially the SOPAC stuff around the horn (Travis-ANC-OSN-KDA- Guam -HNL-Travis) They treat you very well, and the crews are great (say "hi" to Bubba). If I remember he was bumped back to right seat last year during one of the furloughs. That is how deep they go. The only good thing is the furloughs never last more than 4-6 months, so if you are single and enjoy the occasional vacation, go for it! Also say hi to Millie in RMS.

If it wasn't for the 2 furloughs in 3 years I would still be there today.

Again, good luck! I really hope it works out.
