training contracts do not hold up in court, when our unions fought Mesaba's attempt to charge thousands to our pilots who left a couple weeks short of their furlough date, the company backed down......so go ahead and sign the contract.....enjoy your job at horizon, then when other opportunities come, weigh your choices, and take whats best for ALPA...i mean you

Your situation was quite different. The contracts they were trying to enforce were those with pilots who had received furlough notices, THEN found other work, THEN the company tried to enforce their training contracts. Ultimately the company backed off.

PLENTY of training contracts HAVE held up in court. If you sign one and then decide to break it, I would not do so assuming that all is peachy and there is no way they can do anything about it. To think this way is just stupid.

one more thing, yeah, i will sign any contract, let them try to take me to civil court, when they see my W-2 for the last 6 years, they will realize that i have nothing to give. So any company can screw off .....but i stand by what attorneys have told me about training contracts. Its a job....not a military enlistment.....he must be management.......oh...most managements think they can run an airline, but ofcourse they are wrong...they just mess things up

Why are you worried about a training contract at Horizon. There is no way you will be here that short of a time for it to matter. Unless you plan on just sticking around to get some of that really valuable SIC Turboprop time:laugh:

Jesus, you really are a mgmt lurker aren't you??

Your posts sure scream it.

You sure seem to worry an awful lot about what I am when I told you via PM exactly who and what I am. And how is trying to explain the difference in the Mesaba training contract deal and that there have been many other training contracts that have held up in court make me a "management lurker"? I'm just not advocating someone sign a training contract with the intention of not honoring it. Everyone has to do what they have to do. I just don't think that advising someone to sign a contract then go have fun and leave when you are ready good advice. Somewhere along the line, they will have to pay....one way or another....for that decision.

First off, if I were a "lurker" I wouldn't be posting almost every day. Second, all it does is make you come of as some kind of paranoid freak. If you don't like what I have to say, put me on your ignore list. If your paranoia gets the best of you, seek professional help.
