Anyone on this board going to be there?

There'll be a girl named Katrina from UND in your class. Make sure to give her a hard time! I'll be right behind you guys in the Feb. 3 RJ class. Cheers.

I met her before the interviews practing in the sims, pretty cool girl. I guess you made up your mind about if you should go to Horizon or stay with Skywest, what was the final decision maker?

See you in FEB

What's a better choice - the Q400 or the CRJ-700 - in terms of QOL and salary? I am assuming the salary is the same but won't the CRJ pilots have to be based out of Denver? I have heard great things about the Q400. What would be the earliest upgrade time in years? The aircraft you're in makes a difference if you have to wait a long time...

My final decision was the company and moving back home. As soon as I sat down in the interview I knew Horizon is where I wanted to work. Most of the RJ guys in my class are going to PDX, with 1 or 2 going to DEN. Upgrade time from the chief pilot is about 5 years and stagnant. He said it should come down if we have a continual flow of hiring.

What does it take to get on at Horizon? They seem to be very picky. Do they put you in whatever aircraft you want or do you have a choice?

I thought the RJ in PDX was very senior?

SkyWest's portland base is a brasilia base and is very senior. Horizon's Portland base is very senior as well for the RJ but I think they need people to staff the 1 new aircraft this year. So I can plan on lots of reserve!

What kind of flight time did you have when you interviewed?

T-Handle & Mel Sharples,

Hurts, doesn’t it!

The lack of basic decency on your part has always disappointed me but NEVER surprised me.

I am sure you thought that all UND people have 'no good' attitudes and sub-standard flight skills. I am also sure that Sioux' flight experience (400 CRJ Time) was quite a shocker for both of you, wasn’t it.

And 'Good Riddance' (correct spelling) - normally I am not a sucker for spelling on the net because these boards are informal way of writing, but in your case (...I am the righteous, most skilled, above you all, better person and pilot than the pilots from UND and other good university programs) - what do you mean by that?

Good Riddance to what?

My god, these guys are going to one of the best regional airlines in the nation if not the world. Even if it's not the best...at least as a decent human being and a fellow pilot, the least we could do is to wish them all luck for having made it to the airlines (even though Sioux has been to the airlines before I take it).

Why is that your posts are always venomous? You do realize that your consistent sarcasm reeks of uncontrollable jealousy towards UND! Would you also say ‘Good Riddance’ to the F-16 pilot (UND Flight program graduate), one of the very first pilots to assign patrolling the nation’s capitol and NYC after 9/11.

For me, I am happy for each one of the UND grads who made it to Horizon and I wish you successful training, high pass rate (no doubt in the light of former UND performance at Horizon training) and a safe line-flying. And I want you to know that not every one on this board hates UND and its alumni. In every walk of life, you'd meet 'T-Handles & Mel Sharples’. You will even meet them in the very cockpits over the great Northwest. Just remember that ‘Handles & Sharples’ are always in ‘competition’ with EVERYONE. They would never let a chance go by to stamp their ‘low self-esteem’ and ‘inferiority complex’ in every board, talk, discussion, and meetings, be those on the net or in person.

Good luck to all at Horizon! Good Job!

HUH?!? What hurts?

J.C. all F-ing M! Calm the he11 down...

I said good "riddance" to Mesaba 2425 because HE personally is a douchebag. HE is always up to nothing but stirring up the crap. HE was the one who kept putting down Mesaba pilots during our negotiations. HE is a complete waste of space here, and that is why I told HIM "good riddance." (Sorry I can't spell. I must have gone to a "second rate" school.)

With that said, why in he11 did you think I was attacking all UND grads? When did I EVER say they were sub-par? Did it every even occur to you that maybe I went to UND?

Well, I did. So maybe you should have thought twice before you spazzed on me. (Not sure if "spazzed" is a word or if I spelled it correctly. Please enlighten me.)

While we are discussing it, most UND grads are great. I work with many of them. Are there some tools out there? You bet. But there are also tools from St. Cloud, Mankato, Riddle, and every other school. Most people are cool, but there are a few bad apples in every group.

So, Bunny, I assume you don't feel the same way now that you know why I bascially told Mesaba 2425 to go jam it. It has ZERO to do with UND and ZERO to do with Horizon. It has everything to do with him and his IQ of ZERO (or close to it). Mesaba 2425 is nothing but a troll. All he does is spread his anti-union b.s. I'm not a huge supporter of ALPA myself, but that is no reason to stir the pot just to irritate people.

Why is that your posts are always venomous?
You obviously have me confused with someone else. I'm usually one of the first ones to say WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER. The only people I ever got really p.o.-ed at were a couple of jerks at NWA who said I had no right to complain that they gave flying away to a 3rd Airlink. And for Christ's sake, let's not bring that up again.

And I want you to know that not every one on this board hates UND and its alumni. In every walk of life, you'd meet 'T-Handles & Mel Sharples’. You will even meet them in the very cockpits over the great Northwest.
Yep. I'm horribly JEALOUS of not graduating from UND, even though I did. Yep... that must be it. I'm soooo jealous that I'm not a UND alum, even though I am. What the he11 is wrong with me?

As for you, young lady, I would be careful in the future when you jump on somebody before you have the facts. Aviation is a SMALL community and making enemies is not a good plan. This is not the first time on this board YOU have jumped all over someone for doing nothing. Rememer jumping all over Lear70 from Pinnacle for giving you the address?

I am proud to be from UND, but I am NOT proud to say you are an alum with your attitude. Maybe do more research before you crucify someone. The world is not jealous of UND, although you seem to think it is. You are the one who needs to look in the mirror, sister. You have a serious chip on your shoulder and you better figure out why and stop it before you really get put in your place. People LOVE to fly with a judgemental, arrogant jerk.

And you are a REAL class act.

Good luck to all at Horizon! Good Job!
That is something we can ALL agree on! :)

Hahaa FB, why you getting all bent out of shape?? My comment had NOTHING to do with UND!!!

I replied with 'It's probably a good thing' (for Mesaba that is). I need not elaborate any further. Read his posts from the past..... I along with others will be glad to see him leave XJ. I feel bad for the Horizon pilots who will have to put up with his bullsheet.

At Horizon you are paid for the equipment you can hold by seniority, not by what you actually fly. You can be on the CRJ and get paid for the Q-200...Skywest at PDX is VERY senior right now...
