I am trying to get some info on Horizon. Does anyone have thier current pay scales?

Bases? What are senior and what are junior? Is Boise still a base? I see a lot of Horizon A/C still there.

Upgrade time? Any idea what the upgrade to Capt. is and are you more likely to upgrade in the jet or Dash?

Quality of life? How do you like working for Horizon? how many days off per month? typical lines and schedules?

Thank You for your time!

Current upgrade here is at least 4 and a half years. Yeah, pretty bad for a Regional airline and why I would say don't waste your time coming here. At that time you could a jet captain just about anywhere else. You will ugrade into the Dash. You may get hired into any aircraft, but once you're there, you're stuck till you ugrade. Current bases are SEA, PDX and a new one starting in DEN in January for Frontier Jet Express. Don't know off hand what current starting pay is, but as a fifth year F.O. making jet pay it is $42/hr. Unless you really want to work here for some reason, go somewhere else. You won't upgrade to a jet captain until at least 10 years with the company. Then you'll sit reserve forever. Now the company doesn't even know if we are going to keep our orders for jets next year. They claim they can't make any money with the RJ. Kinda makes you go hmmmmm.

They claim they can't make any money with the RJ

That's a good one. How is it that pretty much every RJ operator is making a killing flying the RJ, but Horizon can't?

Good question...

We're asking management the exact same thing.....

Everyone must remember, the management group has asked both pilot groups ( AS and QX ) for pay and work rule concessions. So of course they cannot make money. Just wait until the concessionary talks are completed and management gets some bone thrown their way. Then there will be a different tune being played. Huge profits and the employee group making less and working more.

Just heard F9 plans to increase to '190' departures daily out of DIA. This has got to be good for Horizon, too!
