Anyone know the word on Hooters Air hiring plans, interviews, mins???

Hooters Air doesn't technically exist.

They are operated by Pace Airlines along with Vacation Express and PrivatAir.

The Hooters product seems to be doing pretty well. I was in MYR the other day and they had 3 737s and 1 757 on the ground and they were packing them in!

Not sure about hiring unfortunately.

Minimums are 36C, but competitive minimums are currently @ 38DD.

i was talking with a hooters 737 capt ain the other day and he said that he was doing better financially at Aleghenny (check spelling) where he was a 12 year dash-8 captain!!! OMG!!!

He also all of the company was run by the old CCair mgmt team.

I think we should all put our money together and start a similar airline and call it Air-eola, or perhaps Dairy-Air? And we could drive the price of labor even further into the **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** hole abyss.

i know many there. used to work at CC air. some of the pilots are ex ccair, Mgt has former Piedmont(the real one) airlines,

they do pay you. (you said no pay) 3rd capt makes 80k
fo makes 40k, 36k 1st yr,

as for alleghany, flying 6-7 legs a day in a worn out dash. oh that's fun! versus a Boeing

give me a break. work rules, there's no union. this also isn't the kind of job market where you walk around beating you chest to MGt and shouting hey, dude I'm a pilot.

they have 20 jets, getting more, hiring more, backed by a billionaire owner. you do the math intruder one.

For all those nay-sayers, fact of the matter is no one knows where Pace Airlines will be in a few years.

6 years ago AirTran was joke. We had different management, a sh!t contract, losing tons of cash and pay was similar to Pace. Anyone hired then (me) is in the top 25% of the senority list today, enjoying 17 days off and $11.5K a month on avg.

Unless you have a crystal ball, your guess is no better than anyone else.

I flew for Pace Airlines about five years ago. At the time we only had four 737's. Three were -200 Jurasic Jets and one was a very nice -400. The four basketball teams we flew for were the Atlanta Hawks, Charlette Hornets, Washington Wizards, and the NY Nicks. In the off season we flew Conair (US Marshal service).

Working at Pace is what tought me the value of a good Union, because we did not have one. The work rules and pay were extremely bad. One month I flew a three week trip (that is WEEK, not day). Pay for FOs was about $24,000 a year and Captains pay was set at $65,000 a year. It was all salary and not by the hour. However, if they did not have any flying for you one month then you were not payed. It was kinda like a rolling furlough.

I had a good time while I was there just because of the crews, but management was clueless, of course they are all gone and new folks are there now. But, I still would not recommend going there unless that was the only place hiring .
