I'm taking an FMS class and we're studing the Primus 1000 system. i was wondering where i can find a computer program that can simulate the FMS to practice on...the instructor told me they are hard to find and he had to contact Honeywell directly to obtain his copy...just didn't think it'd hurt to ask, thanks...

I don't know if it's the same, but I have a copy of the Primus 2000 FMS simulator. PM me your email address if you want. I can send you a copy of the operating handbook. I kind of doubt that they are the same though.

Keep in mind that the Primus 1000 is an avionics system (EFIS/EICAS) and may have different FMS(s). Some P1000 systems use Honeywell and others use Universal.

I've always wondered why some P1000 systems use 3 tubes (Citation Bravo, Ultra, Excel) the Lear 40/45 use 4 tubes and some P1000s use 5 tubes(EMB145)???

Anyone know the difference between P1000 and P2000?

PS...If you search the Honeywell website, they do have a PC-FMS simultator. But as far as I know it "simulates" the Citation X which use Primus 2000 and the G-V which I think uses Collins.

It's my understanding that the biggest difference is the VNAV on the P2000. I have never used the P1000 though, so consider this unconfirmed information (wait, that pretty much sums up all information on flightinfo).

It's not the VNAV. The Ultra and Excel both use P1000 and both have VNAV also. The only thing I can think of is the autopilot and perhaps the "dual coupled" approach function.
