Commuting is tough if you don't live within driving distance of the domcile. There's no non-rev or reduced rate travel. Jumpseating is very iffy, a few airlines will let us ride but not many since we can't reciprocate. If you still have non-rev privileges via a family member or previous job then maybe it's feasible.

Air bear what plane did you ever get an NJA. I think i remember that you were applying but i can't remember if you got the job or not.

I was hired onto the Ultra, as was everyone in my interview group who got the job. It took about 3 sim sessions before I learned how to get into the seat without hurting myself :) I'm used to the Ultra now but am really glad summer is over. Most places we hooked up GPU's and ran the A/C so it wasn't all that bad. And for those of you who keep hearing about having to clean the lav, don't worry about it. In 270 hours on the Ultra I've only had to pull the lav out 1 time and that was because the FBO staff broke one once and were not allowed to remove them any more. But they did clean them once you took it out. It takes less than a minute to remove the lav and there's supposed to be gloves on the airplanes now. I will NOT clean one however, we are not even trained on how to do that.

For those of you considering NetJets I like it here and with the new pay rates I probably won't go back to my major airline job if I'm recalled, assuming I can upgrade here in a few years. I've had a few really hard days but most of the time the days are easy as long as you don't mind sitting around FBO's a lot. These planes break all the freaking time, my last tour I only flew 3 days out of 6. In fact it's unusual if I fly every day of a tour. At least that's the way it is on the Ultra, I can't speak for other fleet types. Coming here is a no-brainer if you live close to one of the 5 domiciles.
