Looking for flight time requirements for fractionals. Ive been away from flying for awhile and was just curious. Would much rather fly fracts then regionals
Thx

Takes an ATP, 1st Class and at least 2500. In addition you need to be able to read a contract and not bitch about the work rules 8-10 months into the job!

Seriously if you don't have recent flying experience then you need to get some asap. I think the average hours being hired is around the 5000 mark!

I think all of us who came from the regionals would rather have come straight from GA to NJA....but we had to go to the regionals to help get more competitive. The good news is that some aspects of the regionals are a lot of fun and you will learn A LOT. Glass turbine time in the Flight Levels on the east coast in winter is experience that is very valuable and will make you a much better pilot. NJA is a good place and whatever you need to do now to get yourself ready will be well worth it! Enjoy the ride and remember it is the journey and not the destination.

At NJA, a current flying job or at least current and active flying seems to be an unwritten requirement in addition to the stated mins of an ATP and 2500 TT.

I came from a 121 job to NJA as did most, but not all, of the guys I've flown with here. But I've known a few guys who've come straight from a Part 91 job to NJA, so backgrounds do vary.

I know Flexjet has posted jobs for FO's on climbto.350 for the past three days. I know some people that got hired there with the bare minimums, one did'nt even have an ATP and they gave it to him when he did his type.

Oh thats some heavy philosophical stuff right there...

Hi!

I have about 4000TT, of which 1000 is helo, and I'm in the interview pool at NetJets. I do have a current flying job.

When demand was high in 2000/2001, I was turned down for a LOT of flying jobs because I was not currently in a full-time flying job.

I DID get interviews at ACA (no help now), USA Jet, Trans States, Pinnacle and Corporate (no help now). I was also called by Great Lakes and Superior to interview.

I think USA Jet is done hiring for this year.

I would definitely apply at TSA and Pinnacle if you want to get back into flying and can't get anywhere better.

The recruiters are much more desperate now than in 2000/2001, so I assume it would be easier to get a flying job now without being a current full-time pilot.

Good Luck!
