CFIME?

Why is this a requirement for an airline job?

What's next? a sea rating?

I don't know

I see this in the corporate world. But never really understood it.

I think it's just another "check mark" that some HR geek decided was important. I can think of no other reason.

LAXSaabdude.

Where was this posted? They have had First Officer on the employment page of their website for six months now.

Everybody I know who got hired there in the last 15 months had a MEII, but they were all Purdue grads, too. I dont see any practical reason for having it, unless they are trying to cut down on resumes. That has to be it.

As a CHQ guy, I can tell you the Instructor stuff is just for you to check the box. We have guys, like myself, that have the MEI, and some that haven't even taught their kids to tie their shoes.

Don't get too excited.

I was told by newhires I know the 1000/100 mins were for Purdue and Comair Academy grads ONLY.

But who knows....put in an app, what do you have to lose!

Just posted on the company website today.

New EMB 145 Domicile in Louisville

To: ALL CHAUTAUQUA AIRLINES FLIGHT CREWS.
From: CREW PLANNING.
Date: January 14, 2004
Subject: New EMB 145 Domicile in Louisville, KY

Bid closes 1700 hours on January 21, 2004.

Chautauqua Airlines is announcing SDF will open April 1st as a new crew domicile for the EMB 145 crews.

SDF EMB 145 posting

The company is posting 24 Captain and First Officer EM4 slots for SDF effective April 1, 2004. Bids will be accepted until 1700 hours on the closing date. If interested please update your standing bid.

Additional info regarding the SDF base.

This base will fly both US Airways and Delta code shares. We expect the type of pairings and trips flown out of the SDF base will consist of mainly 1 and 2-day trips and should NOT be considered as a commutable base.

If we have enough qualified Captains, First Officers, and Flight Attendants volunteering to go to SDF for March, we may be able to open the base early with the number of bid lines dependant on the number of available crews.

Vacancies will be awarded in order of seniority using standing bids on file as of the date bidding is closed. Vacancies caused by filling this primary award will be awarded using the standing bids on file as of the date bidding is closed. Not all vacancies created by this bid award may be filled.

Enjoy! You heard it here first!

I think its awesome that they are opening a SDF crew base, considering I'm from LEX...I think they are doing it because they promised the state of KY they would provide jobs to Louisville with Republic. Think they are getting a big mx hangar, as well.

All I need is AT LEAST 500 more TT and 100+ multi and I'll be set!
