Has anyone stayed here? Just wanting to compare it with the Marriott in Rutherford?.

Staying 7 days in early Jan for our recurrents at KTEB.

Thanks in advance.

PS T.C. if you're in the area let me know.

Stay away from the hotel if you can. I was there in the middle of november and everyone was just rude and the service sucked. Theres a hampton in suixcacous(spelling) which is the other end of TEB area, this is an area with lots of food places than the hilton, but if you guys have a car its wont matter to find a place to eat but trust me, seven days with nothing around you can get pretty boring when you get done with recurrent.

I think it's a pretty good place. About as close to the airport as you can get. Van can take you over if you don't have a car. Others may have different opinions. It has the usual hotel amenities.

Dude! stay at the Embassay Sweets in Seacaucus. Free breakfast, and free drinks in the evening. Plus, there is a lot more to do there (places to eat, movie theaters, etc.) you can even go to the hooters knock off that is in that shopping center.

my 2 cents

Kiwi--Not planning to be there but you never know. I'd go with the reccomendation to stay at the Embassy Suites. Free breakfast and, more importantly, cocktails at happy hour.

Are you based in the UK now? Take care. TC.

Thanks for the quick replies folks. I've stayed at the Embassy Suites and Hilton garden inn at Seacacus b4 and rate the Renasance in Rutherford marginally better, except for the free cocktails. It's very hard to find good service anywhere thesedays. [Marriott's downunder all have free coctails and breakfasts] I was very surprised to be asked to pay for my beer in the Ex lounge over there.

We always get the evening sim slots so not too worried about that.

TC; I chose the downunder lifestyle over the money - 5 days last month and already finished for this month - 3 days....
Merry xmas to y'all.

Stay at the Hasbrook all the time ... the reason ... nice comfy dream bed with feather pillow top, feather comforter, and feather pillows. Closest thing to home I have ever slept in. The Embassy and Tampon Inn ... rubber pillows and marginal matress.

So if you want to stand in line with the masses for a "free" beer and crappy scambled eggs with 3 hour old bacon, you go right ahead and stay Embassy Suites.

No thanks, I will take a good nights sleep and eat my bagel with lox spread at FSI. If I want a good meal, I will go out and eat it ... away from the hotel. I suggest the Sea Shack across the street, the Ivy Inn or Sylvester's for Italian. All within .5 of a mile of the Hilton.

Oh yea, did I mention no traffic to FSI from the Hilton. You never know about route 3 or 17 coming from Seacacus.

Man oh man the Hanoi Hilton Hasbruck. God I hate that hotel.

Lets see if you want doors that SLAM

Over priced food

Some sort of new fung wei stuff in the lobby

Fire alarms going off all the time due to the multiple parties that go on on the top floor.

At least all the porn has "unlocked" from the TV's. :)

Just to point out not even Netjets stays there anymore. :)

You're missing out on the Holiday Inn @ Hasbrouck Heights.

View of McDonalds...

Close by the Dunkin Donut, a pathway to Hindu empowerment and enlightenment...

Near said airport, TEB, a benefit not fully appreciated...

Yet still within walking distance of the Bendix Diner.

Not as dingy as it could be. Rooms are better illuminated than a Persian opium den. Carefully scented to infuse one with the sense of being on a slave galley in August, which is delicately balanced with a Hazmat over spray, suggesting hygienic overkill or maybe just a hint of road kill.

Fellow "guests" add to the ambiance and a true sense of security & contentment. Many are armed to the teeth, seasoned warriors, with long forged contacts with the local police, and a zest for life, or 10-20 (out in 8 for good behavior).

The eclectic food offered by the in-house purveyor of all that is good, promotes the "that which does not kill you, makes you stronger" spirit.

But hey, I get free internet and points...

Is that the one with the greek restaurant in it?

Yes it has the Greek Restaurant and the comedy club. Not a bad place to stay for one nite but not for 6-7 nights. At least at Seagaugus/Meadolands you have a choice eats, bars, movies and other assorted stores.

And besides I have met some really fun and intersting people in the area lways good for entertainment

I spend a lot of time in that Hilton. It is better since the re-model, but underneath it is still a dump. Bad service, bad food, sorry excuse of a gym. I like to stay in Seacacus while in training. Close to the airport the Courtyard in Lynhurst is a better choice (I like Harold's NY deli across the street).

that description of the Holiday Inn is spot on. Funny as hell too, but really is the truth. That hotel is conveniently time warped in 1982.

Diesel,

NJA no longer stays there but, regrettably, the Has-Been Hilton is still the #1 for NJI. If it's a minimum rest layover, I will stay at the Hilton just because it is closer and easier to get to. But if the layover is at least 12 hours, I call the NOC and have it changed to the Embassy. WAY better restaurants, movie theaters, and, most important, a legal crack dealer (that's Starbuck's to you) just an eight iron from the front door.

Kiwi, if you're going to school in TEB, stay ANYWHERE other than the Hilton (or the previously mentioned Holiday Inn AKA Hasbrouck Gun and Knife Club).

Sea Shack across the street is pretty good, but there are much bettere places to stay rather than there....

Ha Ha I still have nightmares about that Holiday Inn.

Stayed there for one night on my initial a few years back - I thought the boss was taking the piss booking me into there. Fortunately he was happy for me to change to the Hilton garden inn in Seacucus which had just opened.
