Hello, I'm going to get my CFI rating soon. Anybody know of any good examiners? Did anybody do their checkride with garner?? Thanks, any info is appreciated.

I did my Private, Instrument, and, in about a week, my Commercial with Dave Gardner. He is very fair, although I have been told that the FSDO is doing the CFI rides around these parts from now on.

I also did my private, inst, commercial with Dave Garner. I did my CFI with the FSDO because in 2000 there was no other option. Dave is a great guy, very very fair and professional. I used him as an examiner for my students all the time.

I did my initial CFI (Multi) with Mr. Garner back in 2004. He has more ratings than you can even count and personally take some 18 check rides a year to keep himself curent. I really enjoyed my check ride with him. It was interesting doing my initial CFI in <3sm visibiltiy. He has a way to filter past what you know and pull out your weak areas. Maybe because he goes through so many himself. The one hang up I got was I landed with flaps @25 as I was trained and not 40. So don't feel bad if he starts asking all the wrong questions. Thats only because he knows you know the rest of it and doesn't want to waste your time talking making you explain it all.
