Stuff like this would actually be taken down by Aloha or Hawiian, it does not help their stance. Plus it is being sold to raise money for meth.

I tend to agree. While it certainly came from the heart, it was clearly over the top to the average viewer. It brought into the public arena a very real, but very ugly fight between a couple of corporations.

It's just not the fluffy stuff ruthless corpoprations like to market to the public. Particularly the flying public, where customers start thinking about safety concerns almost immediately.

Mesa sure does have the power to shut down websites. This and MesaLounge

Mesalounge? Well, I'm just passing on rumors here, but I'm pretty sure Mesalounge was taken down by it's pilot-sponsors because they felt it was too anti-ALPA, and especially too scathing against our last MEC chair.

In any case, Mesahub took the place of the lounge, and it has TONs of anti-company stuff.

Mesa, Eagle ,and TSA lounge are all owned/operatated by the same entitiy. I believe all three are down. Legal problems. Not sure if they will ever return.

Looks like www.dontflygo.com has been shut down. Islandhopper, et al, any thoughts? Are we giving in to JO?

having a corporate legal department shake down a hosting provider is hardly "giving in". when large corporations go after a hosting provider there's not much say left in it for anyone.

there was nothing on the site that would give AQ or HA any leverage for having the site taken down. mesa, being the subject of the site would have a claim. it's pretty easy to get hosting providers to crumble with letters from lawyers, etc.

not to worry.. other sites have been popping up recently. not only is there www.boycottmesa.com but also www.mesa-air-sucks.com . the last one not only has its own content, but it mirrors the old dontflygo.com content.

if you thought that was over the top.. it looks like it was just a benchmark for where to go next. check out those other two sites i posted previously.

Well, the boycottmesa.com site looks pretty good. Sticks to the facts (albiet one sided, gotta admit) without over-the-top hyperbolye. Best way to win any argument.

As to the Mesa-air-sucks.com site . . man, you weren't kidding about beating the noflygo site for GIBBERING AT THE MOUTH LUNATIC  PROPOGANDA. Don't hold your breath on the no-confidence vote . . . while I personally voted NC, the last 5 guys I've flown with haven't even heard of the poll . . . or even knew their ALPA #'s so they could sign in and vote!

THAT site is not going to win any support from Mesa pilots (not that it's trying, or should) with the "21 dead in CLT due to Mesa" tagline. That's about as irrational and well received by most MAG pilots as screaming:

"Well-rested but incompetent Comair pilots kill 49 passengers on flight 5191"

or

"Alaska flight 261 pilots/mechanics nose dive an MD-80 into the Pacific working a problem in the air to keep a schedule (instead of just landing the dang thing) thereby killing all 88 aboard"

I mean, really: Does someone honestly think 1800 pilots would work for a company that murders it's passengers and pilots?

Giving in to JO? Hardly, we kicked his ass the last few weeks. We gave him a public beatdown like nobody's business. Set a precedent, he is pissed and out for blood. That's a firm one!

Taking one step backwards is not by any means giving in to JO.

We are like water moving through the people. He wishes to engage us, but it will be at a time and a place of our choosing, not his. We are by no means done with him.

Islandhopper, could you please explain this? The site is for sale?

Anti-go! Web site says it's being sold

Pacific Business News (Honolulu) - 2:52 PM HAST Friday

A day after removing nearly all of its content, a Web site started by employees of Aloha Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Island Air now says it is up for sale.

The site was essentially a blog that existed to blast discount airline go! for disrupting the interisland airline business.

The site now states that it is in the "process" of being sold. It adds that once sold, HERO -- the organization of Hawaii airline employees who started the site -- won't be responsible for its content. Contact information and a solicitation for donations are also included.

The site, www.dontflygo.com, recently removed its anti-go! rhetoric. An e-mail query sent by PBN to the Web site was answered anonymously with this note: "We have removed the content from the site to re-evaluate it for copyright and legal issues. We will have a press release shortly regarding our upcoming activities."

The e-mail sender wasn't identified.

Yesterday, the site had a brief paragraph asking for any attorney to offer free legal counsel to "prosecute an anti-competitive practices lawsuit." It didn't say who the lawsuit is against. That information no longer appears.

well jonestown had 1100 people.. so if JO is the new jim jones then why not? that is where "koolaid" originated after all. ;)

or you could always just castrate yourself for the UFO in the comet tail. ;)
