Deployments-OCONUS:

a) 90,120, or 180 days....have they been happening back to back?

b) % of time spent in Tent city (i.e. do you sit in a hot zone or stage from a descent place such as Ramstein or Moron AB.)

thanks

Active Duty guys, I hear are doing 120 days on. Us guard guys used to do 45 days rots. We are now ramping up to do 60 days on and 60 days off. Obviously nothing is rigid and some rotations can very differently from unit to unit.

Herc's are located in various location outside of Iraq, and Afghanistan. I'm sure you can find it on the net but I'd rather not specify here. We are a rather short range airlifter so we need to be closer to the fight. Good luck

Thanks guys, I'll check baseops.net.

120 days x 2 ...ouch. however i'd prefer something adviertised like that than the old OSTAH (Operation Screw All The Holidays) volunteer for a 60 day turned 90, 120, eventually a short-tour minus one day.

Sure beats a year tour as a ground pounder. (Who really deserve some massive thanks!)

Just take a tour that has a hard start and end date. Makes it go by a lot easier. in '03, we had nothing but rumors of when we were coming home. THAT SUCKED.

We are? :)
I could swear I flew the J model a hell of a lot longer distance than any H everflew..like Keesler direct Kef - then had to do a missed then come back around to land......let's us be farther from the...RISs (Rat Infested Shi'iteholes)

Just an observation in comparision to where the C-5's and C-17 are based and stage out of compared to most hercs. Late

FOTIEs - I know I was just playing - seems the J is bridging the gap though - it allows us to be further away than the other TAC airlifters...which is good and bad.
