What would you do, if offered a job, but on an airplane whose domiciles are all in California, but you live in the midwest and can't for various reasons move out there. add to this the fact that you came off a jet and the company that offered you the job has junior jet bases in the midwest. what would you do? i appreciate the responces.

enjoy the bro for a year, then transition to the jet. the year will fly by. commuting will suck, but the seniority you'll have in a year will be great.

Demand that they put you in the jet in a midwest base. After all, all Regionals are hurting for pilots, so they should cater to your every whim.

I agree with SkyNation though. Sounds like you can bid off in a year, and that time will go by pretty fast anyways.

I appreciate your responces, i was really surprised when i was offered the bro. oh well i guess cali is a lot warmer this time of year then iowa.

If you have the 2500 when your year is up, take the upgrade, get your time, and then get a job with a major with junior bases in the midwest.

indeed, you could upgrade way ahead of all the low-time CFIs we've hired who won't have the 2500. Then, it's back the jet and a nice raise in the left seat.

and what part of Iowa are you in? we've still got the bro base in SLC, unless I'm mistaken. Its still a commute, but at least thatd be only one leg, instead of multiple to get to one of the SoCal bases... welcome to skywest

There's plenty of companies that pay better than the anti-union Kool-aid drinkers at SKW.

Kind of a slap in the face to come off a jet, and go on a Bro, IMO.

Skywest is the ExpressJet two years ago. It's popular like the iPod, but still sucks.

Why didn't you apply at places like Air Wisconsin?

I hope those girls are in the new FA class WOW. I need a cold shower

"Skywest is the ExpressJet two years ago. It's popular like the iPod, but still sucks."

What the ******************** are you talking about? Explain your comparison to ExpressJet. There is nothing that sucks about XJT. There is plenty that sucks about being an airline pilot.

There are 41 EMB FO's in SLC. About half of them have been here less than a year. There are 10 bidding to transfer into SLC and 14 bidding to transition to the jet.
You'll gain seniority really fast on the emb. When you transition to the jet, you'll be a lineholder at nearly any domicile.

Deal with it and get a quick upgrade in MKE on the jet. I'm surprised they put you in the Brasilia. I don't think there would be much difference between commuting to SLC, MKE, ORD, or DEN out of Des Moines once you drive to the airport, go thru security, wait for the flight, etc.
