I lost a friend in Desert Storm. Another old friend of mine from when I was enlisted died in the Khobar Towers bombing. I hope that I don't lose another friend this time around.

I'm in a staff job at headquarters, so no risk to myself. God, I wish that I was there.

War is serious business, not to be taken lightly. I don't look forward to it, but it is necessary when diplomacy fails.
