Does anyone know how to get out of Lima for under $1500 a person. We flew down on Delta passes but the return is a no-go as the 777-200 is ZFW limited (who knew?) and all 50 of us standby pax have been denied 6 days in a row and will be for the next month due to cargo. Airtran employee here, so no ZED priveleges. I HAVE to get the wife home asap. I´ll pay for American, Continental, United or Lan passes or anything else you´ve got that works. Cash overnighted to you. No flame, please, we´re in a pickle.

Buy a cheap ticket to Mexico City

If you need to, buy a cheap ticket to Mexico City and nonrev outa there instead.....
Did that a few years ago after a similar situation.

So the airlines down there wont take your cash or credit cards? Sounds like a big scam to me you are trying to pull. Go the ticket counter down there and pay them for your ride home. No one here is gonna pay up for ya.

He's asking for suggestions or assistance, not someone to buy a ticket for him. He's an AirTran pilot, a similar message is on our ALPA board.

Sierra Nevada is good, but not good for breakfast.

Good Luck, Marty.

It's not a scam. I was the fo on a CAL flt out of Lima on the 16th and we managed to get a pinnacle fo out of there after 5 days of being stuck. Talked to the DAL 777 crew on the way out, and they couldn't even believe that they were weight restricted to ATL. Best of luck, but I can't help til the 23rd. If your still there by then, take up citizenship.

I'll vouch for Martye62. His word is gold. It sounds like he just wants a buddy pass to get himself and his wife out of town. Whoever can help him out will most certainly be reimbursed to the agreed terms. Someone has probably already hooked him up.

DAL has an internal notice about non rev from Lima, apparently all cargo driven.

I'm guessing lots of "bricks" wrapped in celophane....in kilo sized increments.:p

seriously, go to mexico city. you can get anywhere from there cheaply.

good luck, dude.

Both American flts from Lima-Mia got all nonrevs including ZEDS out today. Tomorrow looks excellent too. AA2110 08:05AM and AA918 1220AM.

If you're a bigtime "Airtran Mainline pilot"....can't your mainline payscale afford you a ticket home instead of being stuck there for 5 days? Whoops, you said no flame- I'll shut up then.

Seriously though, thanks for bringing this up. When I go to Peru, I'll remember the high chances of getting stuck there.

Guys, thanks for all the fast responses, nice to know there are still a bunch of good folks out there. I think we got it covered. Thank you all.

Labatt, don´t recognize the avatar but thanx for the kind words.

SplitBar...Nice, very nice. Notice I was trying to get out for LESS than $3200, maybe buy some unused passes and someone makes some extra holiday cash. All you had to do was PM or call, but you took the low road instead. I guess every industry has that 10% or so. Trying to save my pennies for the strike. Plus, spending that much cuts down on my $10 visits to your sister. How about you come to ATL and call me a thief to my face. Feel pretty safe behind a keyboard, huh? You´re a coward and a tool. I´m available in ATL anytime.

Glad you've worked it out Marty. I'm at home today working on the compu, so if something falls through, fire me a PM and I'll get on the horn and get you a couple of tickets.

relief tube,
Amen brother, all my millions as a major airline captain. But it´s our F/O´s that really need the increase. And the guys that got screwed, er, ´furloughed´by the ¨best management team in the industry¨. I came here on vacation, they´re the ones that are hurting.
Actually, yeah, it´s a tough exit from Lima. On the 17th (great timing) Delta posted the travel advisory. Three days AFTER the cargo contract started. Buenas Dias
