well....
im now in a situation where i need to entirely pay for my own health insurance. i opted for the cobra...er...the continuation of the company plan by i pay fo rit...and they opted to increase their rates 24% !!...guaranteed that being an orange alert add-on.
anyway, i need what everyones begging for now, cheap health insurance that covers everything and nice medium to low co-pays.
anyone have some suggestions? who have you found to be the cheapest best value? most likely you get what you pay for tho....but sometimes you dont.
the blue cross blue shield <BCBS> will run me about $300 a month....im just a single guy...a pilot yeah but hardly flying anymore till that new job....and that new insurance.

Do you have dependants? This is very important to consider. The problem with individual health insurance (not group) is that they rate you based on claims you incur, they do not pool you as they do in group health. The ins company can and will rate you as soon as quarterly or six months passes. They do not have to abide by small group reform and can cancel you at any time when the contract runs out, you are not guaranteed renewability. This becomes a problem if you become really sick ie. cancer or some other terrible illness. The insurance would then cancel you and make it almost impossible for you to get another carrier, at least one you can afford. Feel free to PM me with any questions, I may be able to give you some insight and/or advice.
