I am trying to find out the name of a movie and I can't remember it...and I didn't get to watch it all. I know in the begining there is a young boy who lives on a military base and wants to get into flight academy for navy or air force I believe, anyway he races some kid on a bike and he is in a C172 I believe, does all these crazy moves in the plane and they are in a desert/mountain area...does anyone know what the movie is... I am guess made between late 70's mid 80's! Any ideas would be great..it is really important to find out!
Oh and any suggestions on some good aviation movies to add to my collection drop in some suggestion!!! :)

I used to wear a portable tapedeck (before walkmans) strapped to my leg during all my flights. It helped me focus. They even let me do it when I flew f-16's.

IRON EAGLE!

Yes!! Thank you so much!!

Chappyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even us civvie folks can learn a lot from that movie. If you crank up a little Queen outside the marker you will nail the approach every time.**Useless movie trivia-The USAF didn't want to participate in the making of Iron Eagle so it was filmed in Israel.**

Wow Iron Eagle. I havn't seen that in a long time. I can't remember what bomb they dropped to create the "wall of fire" that allowed him to land an F-16, get out, get his dad, and get back in. Was it just napalm or something else. I think they called it a snake-eye.

We should use those all the time. Think of the many ways a wall of fire could come in handy.

Mowing your lawn tomorrow?
Nope, wall of fire.

I heard there doing rampchecks today.
Nope, wall of fire.

They called it the "Hades Bomb".
I thought the gay black guy from the movie Nerds had a standout performance in Iron Eagle. Where's he at now?

Here's the best movie website. It has a searchable database for actors, characters, titles, etc., and lots of interesting trivia from just about every movie every made.

I agree, didn't even bother wasting my time on the last two.

The first one was ok considering it a far fetched aviation movie, the second one was rediculous (Russians flying F-4's) The third one was just flat out retarded and was a complete waste of Louis Gosset Jr.'s talent and a disgrace to WWII aircraft.

Stupid 80's the worst decade ever.
