Hi,

I was applying at JetBlue - I filled out all of the profile info/flight times, etc. however I cannot find any jobs when I search for a position. No jobs in any department anywhere. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Will my app still be reviewed if I haven't attached it to a joblisting?

Thanks,

I just looked at it....it has changed. I cant pull up pilot or first officer at all. Send me a PM and I will look into it and get back to you.

You can have my interview....I wont be using it.

igneousy, looking to leave Alaska for JB? May I ask what's prompting you to make such a move? Things at Alaska that bad?

That would be a mistake in my opinion. I still think Alaska could (and I emphasize "could") be a takeover target for Delta at some point (complementary routes, same fleet, not a merger of equals, etc.). You never know... Beyond that, why would you want to leave the beautiful LEFT COAST and then primarily fly on the congested, dirty East Coast? JFK is a complete disaster and to have to fly into and out of JFK every day would bite! I'd rather fly up and down the West Coast and into sunny Mexico. I hear LGB for JB is pretty senior so you would do some JFK time - unless they open a few more West Coast bases. I still think Alaska is a better choice.

Well, if you are tired of Boeings and you really want to side-stick it on an Airbus, then by all means - go to JB. I hear the E190s are nice too.

Good luck

The man may be living on the East Coast in which case, it'd improve his QOL significantly.

Just keeping my options open. Lived on the "right" coast before and LOVED it - want to go back. If Alaska would just open up....even Chicago would be okay. Not going to happen though. I like flying on the East Coast as long as the meter is on - I don't care how long it takes to go from New York to Boston as long as I'm getting paid - Just don't tell anyone that 2000 hours of my total time is sitting on a taxiway at LGA or BOS.

As far as being bought (AS) - I have to say that that Alaska would make sense for a lot of airlines but it doesn't seem like anyone with any money is very anxious to let that bull out of the barn just yet.

All in all though I am very happy with Alaska and I wouldn't leave for just anybody.

This has been one of my fears too with Aloha. We've been teetering on the brink for too long, yet, for me even with the commute, you can't beat the QOL - my 35 hour layovers are usually at home, so basically I end up getting paid for sleeping in my own bed at home with family for 2 nights and collecting $2.67/hour going up to $3/hour in January per diem... or I pick up my family in SNA in the evening and go to RNO for a 30-odd hour layover and go snowboarding for the weekend.

Kinda hard to beat that... BUT.....

The worries over the whole Mesa thing... no significant growth... overall uncertainties.... same old overwater flights. At times, I really miss flying corporate - the flying was better, the money tends to be better, and no probationary FO pay.

I didn't apply at any other airline, but I did apply at some corporate operators. We'll see...

Well, I hope you have your app in at Delta. Good chance you could get hired into the MD88 or 767ER out of New York if you really wanted it. I hear another 500+ could be hired through next year if/when the 10 ex-Chinese MD90s are added. You never know...

In the meantime, enjoy those Alaska King Crab legs!!!!
