A friend of mine is 5 feet 1. she is wondering if her height might be a problem for her career.
thanks

The bigger the airplane, the more adjustable the seats/rudder pedals. I hate flying C-182's because I can't reach anything (I'm 5'4"), but the B-767 is no problem...I don't even have the seat or rudder pedals all the way up. If you want to reach something in the cockpit bad enough, you will. Lots of pilots carry seat cushion/lumbar supports with them, so that shouldn't be a problem.

My girlfriend fly's a CRJ-200 and she's 5'2" (or as she puts it, 5 foot 2 and 3/4 inches... but that's another story ;)). The point is that she has no problems reaching any controls without any additional cushions or platform shoes!

idea

She could always use one of those little red plastic booster seats from Pizza Hut.

Just a thought.
