I am in the market for a good ANR headset and was wondering if regional pilots are really only allowed to use certain headsets. I was wanting either a Lightspeed or a Pilot, but neither have the FAA's blessing. I can only spend up to about $400-500, but I want the headset to last me through my years in the regionals (I'm about a year away right now), so if the FAA actually enforces the rule, then I guess I have to buy a DC or Telex. Anyone have any input or advice?

At Pinnacle we're required to have one that's TSO'd. I'm not sure about other airlines though. I would recommend a Telex. I had a Telex with ANR when I flew the B1900 and it worked great and cost a lot less than a DC. Now I use a Telex 150 in the CRJ and it's perfect. I just think that DC is way overpriced.
