hey got a job flying hawkers and just wondering what would be a good headset for it. I currently use my david clarks for flying the pilatus but looking at the bose X. Any input would be appreciated

Depends on the model. 800's are quiter inside the cockpit than earlier models. I have flown 600's and 700's without a headset with no problem. However, I do prefer to use a headset. Personnaly I like the Telex Airman 850. It is ANR and is more substantial than the Airman 750. Plus better earphones.

headset

We use the Sennheiser 25's on our 800. They are ENC models. Very light weight with leather ear cups. Love em.

We use those little Telex jobbies. FracCapt tried to get me to go with the Bose X I use in my work-commute airplane (piston) but the Telex seem sufficient. Hawker 800XP. For the 700 the Bose X are nice, though, as that's a much louder ship.

If you are talking about the Airman 750's, as far as I am concerned they are junk. I have used them in the past and have found them not much better than the aircraft overhead speaker.

I use Sennheiser ANRs. I haven't recharged my batteries in a few years and have no problem with noise. They are lightweight and durable.

Tailwinds...

yeah the company has an older 400 two 700s and an 800. Like i said im leaning to the bose x . thanks for the input

Still trying to get the boss to buy us Bose or Telex mini anr's for our 800. IMO the overhead speaker is great for cruise but once you get down in the low 30's it just gets too loud for the lightweight Texex jobbies that we have.

We use the telex airman deals with earplugs in and the radio up...not efficient and kind of retarded, but that's the way it is. The 700's are loud as hell but the xp and 1000 are a bit better. I've been really curious about those new telex ANR sets. Has anyone tried them in a 700?

Raskal, I have used the Airman 850's in a 600 Fan which is basicly a 700 and found them to be quite workable. Good clarity and comfortable.
