If you were at Netjets and could upgrade into either the Hawker 800XP or CE-680 Sovereign, which would you chose and why?

Mainly looking for pro's/cons of the aircraft.
Also if anyone currently in these programs at Netjets had any input that would be great.

Thanks

Hawker 800.

The 680 is very small up front, we carry a bunch of bags, and we can do 6+ hour legs. And to make matters worse, the company is really pushing the 680's to other a/c owners, so we are starting to work pretty hard.

800XP/900XP.

Small baggage area. Shorter legs...

A gentleman's plane.

CE680...

The Cessna magazine ads say it all. "Take it with you. Take it ALL with you." You'l get a hernea loading al those bags.

Yah, but you wont get a hernea if yah watch that video they had in class pertaining to the proper way to load bags. "And some day you will be a captain on a shiny new hawker 400"....was the quote at the end of that extremely educational movie.

Roger! I remind myself about that video when going through the contorsions we do when loading many Cessna products.

I would choose the 680 for several reasons.
1. Newer designed aircraft, in other words not designed 30+ years ago and just recycled like Raytheon loves to do. No wet wing etc.
2. Unless you are getting the Collins bird you are dealing with old avionics.
3. The 800 has long legs with the power pulled back.
4. Granted the 680 has a lot of baggage space, however it is easier to load bags in a cargo hold then to drag them through the cabin.
5. No Little Rock.
6. If we are talking NJA, the CP in the 800 is a no go item for me, 680 guy much cooler.
7. Not everyone is typed in the thing, good chance of contract work with a rare type.
8. Did I mention no KLIT???

RNO, you said it! I totally agree. As for contract work (if your interested), there is plenty of it in the Sovereign. And with some on short notice and with so few people typed in it, well, you can get a good deal!

I would choose the 800.

1 - Proven Airframe for many years.
2 - Collins is pretty nice, don't know much about the Honeywell though.
3 - Long legs are very rare at NJA in the 800. Average is about 1.5 probably.
4 - Bags go up stairs and into the closet usually, not through cabin. If you do get an old bird with the couch you may have to strap some bags to it.
5 - I will have to conced the Little Rock point, definite negative.
6 - I've heard stories but no problems personally with CP in 800.
7 - Not interested in contract work, but lots of Hawkers out there.
8 - At least no more Atlantic City!
