If one were to leave the fractional business what would be a reasonable expectation for a hawker captain salary in the corporate industry. Not that I want to leave Flight Options!

Depends on where the job is located, what type of ancilliary duties go along with it(if any), how much flying they do on average, benefits package, and several other things. I've turned down Hawker jobs that pay ranged from $65k to $90k. I turned them down for various reasons...the most notable being pay(too low) and schedule(or lack thereof) and overall amount of flying/time away from home. A close third was the location of some of the jobs.

Give a little more specific info and you will get a better idea.

Contract Capt pay

Contract capt. pay in FL. can range from 500.00 to 750.00 per day

Are you a FracCapt?
If i was offered a job at 90k and was working as a frac Capt, I would have to consider that. I know that most frac capts dont make near what I do as a capt on a hawker. I really dont have a schedule but I have about 5 rons a month. This alot less then any frac pilot I know.

If that pay is too low then how much are you making at the fracs?

Yep. Hawker Captain at a company without many....OPTIONS. ;)

The jobs that I was offered were less than stellar. It doesn't matter much if I make 90k if I'm away from home 25 days a month....or even if I'm on call, 24/7, for that many days. Yes, I'm picky about what I will take. Of course, location played a part in a couple of the decisions. I currently don't pay any state income taxes....and low property taxes...but a couple of the jobs I was offered would have required me to move to states WITH income taxes(which I don't mind, assuming the compensation is high enough) and/or higher property taxes. Net result.....little or no raise. I get 2 hard weeks a month off right now....and that's a big deal to me based on some of the activities I take part in while I'm off that require some travel or down time.

Almost 73k base right now. That doesn't include perdiem or any OT pay. Not spectacular, but doable. I don't do OT, so that's it. I do some outside work, that averages about 2-3 days a month. That gives me an extra 10-15k. I wouldn't be able to do that with a typical corporate gig where I had to be available 24/7.

Now you know what I make....PM if you want anything more specific....but now I must ask...what do you make? PM if you don't want to make it public.

That sounds like a pretty good deal that you have going. Our Captains are making 62K with 3 hard days a month. Our F/o's are making 32,9. Now if you can fly more than one airplane pay jumps up to depending if you are a a captain or a F/o in the other airplane 97 and 72 respectively.

I know FLOPS SUCKS I was there, not flying though, and it still is a better gig than some things out there.
