Any recent hiring or interviews for Hawaiian Airlines. Got the online app completed oh about 3 months now and it says it is still in review. Just wondering if any one inside or outside knows if they're hiring. Thanks for the 411.
Thanks for your coments greenbayfan. I haven't updated my profile in over 2 years. If you look carefully on my profile it does say 2000+ meaning I have way more than 2000 hours by now. Sorry if this looking deceiving. I'm also flying Lear Jets now. last time I was in a Beehcraft 1900 was 3 years ago.
We still have applicants in the pool, and about 24 more slots to fill. However I think we're done interviewing. If you haven't been through that process yet, you probably won't be getting a call this time around.
As for Dr. Farcas, I have never seen a pilot group get so angry about a hiring process. He made a mockery of our profession, yet there's nothing we can do; HR took the hiring process away from the flight division, and even our Chief Pilot was left out in the cold. Hopefully next time will be better, but we'll have to wait until we get more planes for that to happen.
Hal, do you know who make the decision as to who get selected for the class. I interviewed back in may, and I was told that I was in the interview pool. I am still waiting for the call to do my last screening (pshyc, drug test).
It seems that nobody really knows who makes the final decision. I was told by Sue Y. that there are several people involved in the decision and several pilots I talked to said that there is so much politics going on, and unless your mom works for Mark, or Dad is a current pilot or you are a current checkairman, your chance of getting hired are slim.
Bruddah, There have been a few people get in that don't fit the son/daughter/checkairman profile, but not many. The list gets pared down a lot before it gets to the 'final decision makers', and its these unknown people (who choose which applicants to send on) that are making it tough for a well-qualified but otherwise unconnected person to get hired. I know the Chief Pilot and director of Flight Ops are in on the final choice, but there are a couple others from management too. It can happen, but if you know someone here, have them bug Ray M. and Sue Y. about you and hopefully that will move things along. From what I know, you won't get called for the final screening until you are essentially 'in'. Then the final tests are more of a formality. Good luck!
