Hey everyone,

Question for King Air folks... I just did a B300 contract trip and saw something rather peculiar... On the airplane's exterior skin, just aft of the cabin door, there seemed to be some sort of coupling bracket thingy going 360 degrees around the airframe. It was longitudinal in direction and there was one spaced about every couple of inches. What's more, it seemed to mate with where the aft pressure bulkhead would be.
Now, I've flown a bajillion King Airs, but I've never seen this before. So I'm wondering if any of you guys have any info on this. When I asked the airplane's owner, he indicated that this is how this group of serial numbers was manufactured, but it almost appears to be some sort of aftermarket structural reinforcement (like the B200's spar straps from the 1980s, remember?).
Let me know your thoughts on this.

Regards,

Jason

[/QUOTE]It is the "cheap" method of performing the SB for strengthening the tail at the pzr bulkhead. Ugly, ain't it? A lot, if not all King Airs that need this done have those pieces on the inside of the skin.

Hmmm...

Well, I knew one of you fellas would know. Thanks very much.

Jason
