I just wanted to say to all the pilots at FLOPS, happy holidays. This special time of year only comes around every twelve months. This is the time of year to give thanks and to share with your family and fellow pilots. Be extremely safe out on the road. So safe that you know that your family at home struggling to enjoy this time of year knows you are not taking any shortcuts.
This is also the best time to send that special seasons greeting to FLOPS management. It is a very stressful time for them. I say send them your warmest regards by ensuring that you are living up to the company credo Safety, Service, and sticking it to the pilots. Send them many unexpected 501's this holiday season to show them just how you feel about them this holiday season. Make sure you are as rested as can be, and have visions of sugar plums in your head at that low budget hotel at night. If not, you may just compromise safety by accepting the flight after an unrestful night. Be sure and let them know when they are begging for overtime that your real family is more important to you this time of year. Also this time of year brings on many illnesses. You shouldn't fly with that sniffle you have been having. It could possible work its self in to a cold or even worse the flu. That is no way to spend the holidays. Guys stay safe this holiday season. This is our best time to shine. If we don't do it now then like I said earlier we will have to wait another twelve months.

It never ceases to amaze me how penny wise, pound foolish that managers can be. Cheaper hotel rooms are that for a reason--crowded, and noisy. They attract the rowdier groups that make it hard for pilots trying to rest when the party is still in full swing out in the hall.... Unrested pilots have to call fatigue--now how did that save money...

Labor strife is notorious for causing stress, and stress is well known for being distracting. Please slow down and double check everything you do. Management has already shown their disregard for you and your families. I've no doubt that the slightest mistake made would be viewed in much less than the holiday spirit. Take your time out there. It's your career on the line when you fly, not theirs.

It is the season for sharing but I doubt that your pax will appreciate getting your germs...:p Do keep those to yourself--at home.
