Forgive me if this is a confusing question, but I was wondering if anyone else from Minnesota recieved the same letter.
Basically some guy from St. Paul that has been instructing for 40 years is doing a study on accidents during the landing phase of flight. He wants to meet with CFIs to discuss how they teach landings. He sent a stamped postcard to send back to him requesting phone number/email and a few questions about how much instructional time we have. He would like to meet for 45 minutes or so to discuss these things.
I might be interested in participating, but I just found it odd that he sent me a letter. It was addressed by hand, and not sent out like you would see from a mass mailing. I haven't instructed for nearly two years, so not sure why he would be sending this out. It seems that he would be better off going to area flight schools to find current instructors.
Anyway, if anyone else has recieved this, or know who the guy is, I would appreciate learning what you know.
Sorry for the rambling nature or this, but it just seemed odd, and I wasn't sure how to describe it.
