Would the Gulfstream crews be able to give me any figures on the direct hourly operating cost for a G-4/4SP, or the latest 350/450, and the G-5/or 550. Perhaps some fuel flows for a 6 hour trip on both, it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance:)

 Got some good fuel flows on the next page so, perhaps just the DOC numbers would be great.

Thanks

What kind of direct operating costs are those? Variable, total. etc. There are numerous formulas's for operating costs and it helps to know which ones we're dealing with. For instance, some operating costs include pilot salaries, hangar costs and some variable costs, while others do not. It also helps to know who's coming up with the figures as you can guess that Gulfstreams numbers will differ from others such as Concklin & DeDecker.( If you don't believe me just ask any salesman, wink wink)

Continued from above...... The most puzzling issue I had was how much more it cost to operate a Gulfstream than any of the competitors ( Look at this from a management perspective not a pilots). I have experience flying several model Gulfstreams and understand you just fuel and load up and go, it's that simple, plus you do it all at .80, never having to pull back power. The other aircraft offer significant savings over typical 4 year owners cycle ( typical time frame for owner to have an aircraft). And then I started looking in my own back yard (VNY) Look around and see how many Gulfstreams there are vs. Challenger's and it is something like 20 to1. There has to be a reason for that, which I am missing or not realizing is right in front of me.The Falcon's hold their resale well as do Gulfstreams, but the Challenger's lag just a bit behind as far as depreciation. Even the old GIII's are getting an extension on life with the stage III hush kits and avionics modernization. If anybody has the answer I'd be happy to listen.

I know the support at Gulfstream is excellent world wide. I didn't realize the Canucks had a problem with it. I figured with so many RJ's out there the support has to be good. ( maybe it's good for the RJ'S only) That's what happens when you Ass..ume!!!

Direct Operating Costs assume the folowing:

Maintenance labor ($88.00 / hour), parts, engine reserves, and miscellaneous flight expenses from 2007 Conklin & deDecker.

Fuel burn based on 1,000 nm mission with 8 passengers (large cabin) or 4 passengers (mid-size cabin) and a fuel price of $4.98 / gallon.

You are correct that Gulfstream's numbers do differ from Conklin and deDecker's, but not in the way you think. Gulfstream's numbers tend to be more conservative than Conklin & deDecker's.

Subsequently, Gulfstream Sales Engineering and Technical Marketing, a department staffed by engineers which provides analysis and performance computations for company sales execs, uses Conklin & deDecker data for Gulfstream jets in the proprietary aircraft guide that they provide for them, Facts At Your Fingertips.

SUPPORT. Skidoo jet still hasn't been able to spell it, let alone do it.

Roger that!

Our Bombardier Global Express transitioned smoothly from entry into service issues to aging fleet problems. Being collocated with a Bombardier service center has had no apparent effect on the level of famed Bombardier customer support that we receive.
